Martin Flugelman Olmeda (ARG, 1987) is an architect, lighting designer, and researcher based in Marseille, France. He holds an Architecture degree from the University of Buenos Aires and a Master of Arts in Architectural Lighting Design from Hochschule Wismar. Since 2025, he is a research fellow at the University of Bologna on the project Art of Darkness as Cultural Heritage of Urban Landscape.
His practice inhabits the liminal space between art, performance, and urbanism, using light as a critical medium to interrogate nocturnal imaginaries, urban conflicts, and structures of power. He has organized light events and festivals in Buenos Aires and led non-conventional lighting workshops across Argentina and Europe, fostering light-dark sensitive cultures that reclaim the night as a site for social and creative participation. His research on Light Activism and critical lighting practices deepens the creation of alternative urban nightscapes that reveal the invisible spectra of light and the power structures embedded in lighting technologies.
He is a founding member of FLUXLIAN, an Argentine collective light research platform dedicated to the collective diversion of lighting technologies — reimagining their uses through interventions, performances, and light choreographies.
