Karolina Halatek is a Polish visual artist who uses light as her main material. Her light art works often include pure white, even sharp light, geometrical elements and mist; both real and perceived. The artworks tend to be spatial, immersive and include an optical or even illusory element. Her artwork Spot (2020) is a kinetic installation, where a circle of moving light beams form a serenely vacillating, stripey cone of light, where the beams meet in the center. Like many of Halatek’s pieces, Spot is expecting an entrance of the audience members, completing the artwork with their presence.
