Born 1986 in Palo Alto, USA, lives and works in Frankfurt.
Rieckmann is an interdisciplinary artist, combining classical artistic techniques with technological methods and working with sculpture, space, and media art as well as theatre. Her interest lies in perception and how it is transformed by technology, and how light can open new spaces.
The artwork discussed was A morphing Frank Stella, seen at Brilliant Works exhibition in Ritter Museum. It is a traditional light-color study box of exceptionally many layers. What makes it unique is the deliberately composed colour scheme, not shying away from rarely seen muted and diluted colours, combined with saturated ones.
