Aimo Taleva’s six periods reflect experimental shifts in material and media: The silk period, with early works using silk fabric for delicate, translucent sculptures or installations; the plexiglass period crafting geometric, light-refracting objects such as suspended panels or mobiles that bent and multiplied light rays; the iron period with forged, welded structures exploring weight, rust patinas, and industrial tension; the optochromic period with focus on optical color changes; the stone period using granite, marble, or basalt for monolithic forms emphasizing mass, erosion, and geological time; and the wooden period working with driftwood, carved logs, or laminated constructs.
